(sman) Realgar (Yeshi 2018)
Synonyms : ldong ros, dmar po dri ldan, gar mkhan ma, glu che ba, ma ni tsha.

In the Mahāvyutpatti (5955) man shel translates Śilā under the heading 'Gems and precious substances'. It is vaguely defined, with arsenic as one proposition, echoing the names of Realgar. But Realgar (Manaḥśilā / ldong ros) is already (or again ?) mentioned in (5924) within the list of pigments. For the tibetan authors man shel is clearly a synonym of ldong ros.
Manaḥśilā / Realgar has three varieties : Śyāma (Śyāmikā), Rakta (Kaṇavīrā) and Khaṇḍikā. (wisdomlib.org)
From Arabic "rahj al-gahr", powder of the mine. Realgar (Arsenic monosulfide AsS) is known as a mineral pigment in Byzantium. Upon exposition to light the red realgar changes into yellowish-brown pararealgar. It also gives the yellow orpiment (ba bla) as alteration product (mindat.org).
