universal emperor [IW]

Skt. cakravartin. 1) universal king, universal emperor, universal monarch, universal ruler; 2) wheel-turning king, wheel-turning emperor, wheel-turning monarch, wheel-turning ruler; 3) world-turning king, world-turning emperor, world-turning monarch, world-turning ruler. Alternate spelling of the more common 'khor los sgyur ba'i rgyal po. This term requires some research by the translator, as it has different shades of meaning and historical context in Indian religions. [Erick Tsiknopoulos]
