Prajāpati ('Lord of Beings/People'), a group of Hindu/Vedic deities presiding over procreation and protection of life, creator gods. Although this is also one of the names for Brahmā, Brahmā is only sometimes one of the Prajāpati, it being a position he held earlier but later passed on to other deities, and this is not specifically or only Brahmā as stated elsewhere; Brahmā is the usual tshangs pa [Erick Tsiknopoulos]
