anuparigṛhṇīte¦ (cf. anuparigraha, °grāhikayā; no such cpd. in Skt. or Pali, but substantially = pari-g° in various senses; forms noted are °gṛhṇīte, ger. °gṛhya, ppp. °gṛhīta, gdve. °grahītavya): (1) surrounds in attend- ance, closely waits upon, LV 82.2 anuparigṛhītā (Māyā, by soldiers etc.); AsP 34.(13--)14 (asmābhir api bodhisat- tvā)…anuparigrahītavyā anuparivārayitavyāś ca (sim- ilarly in line 16 anuparigṛhītāḥ); (2) holds in the arms, embraces closely, LV 103.9 kumāram ubhābhyāṃ pāṇi bhyāṃ sādhu ca suṣṭhu cānuparigṛhya; Śikṣ 155.2 glānaṃ bhikṣuṃ sādhu ca suṣṭhu cānuparigṛhya bahirdhā nī- haritvā (see this) snāpayet; Divy 116.11 sarvāṅgair anuparigṛhya; 387.5 and 388.13 sarvāṅgenānuparigṛhya; (3) cultivates, devotes oneself to, tends, favors, AsP 463.9--10 (yo…prajñāpāramitāṃ) pralujyamānām anuparigṛhṇīte …buddhānāṃ…tena bodhir anuparigṛhītā bhavati; [Page029-a+ 71] Gv 356.8-9 samanvāhṛtāḥ (see this) smaḥ tathāgatena, anuparigṛhītāḥ smaḥ sugatena (said to a Tathāgata in welcome on his arrival), the T. has turned his attention to us, the S. has bestowed his gracious favor on us.
