chu rtsa resembles lcum rtsa apart from the size of leaves and flowers. It is also considered the medium type of lcum, lcum 'bring or lcum dmar. chu rtsa again has 3 types, male, female and neutral. chu rtsa pho or tha chu ra has a hollow stem, large, thick leaves and yellow, triangular fruits like those of Rumex spp. chu rtsa mo or rdza chu ra has no textual description, but is thought to have a red stem and a small central spike. chu rtsa ma ning again has 2 types, one with a short hollow stem and large leaves, and a second type, chu chung ba, with a shorter reddish petiole and rough leaves (Dawa 1999)
