para-tīrthika¦, adj. or subst. m. (= tīrthika; not recorded in Pali, but cf. añña-titthiya, see anya-tīrthika s.v. tīrthika; occurs in Jain Skt., see ISt. 10.257), adhering to (adherent of) a heretical sect: °ka-niśritānāṃ LV 420.19 (vs; so read, see Crit. App.); 436.10; in Mv i.87.5 (vs) read with (most) mss. paratīrthikamataṃ teṣāṃ (Senart em. apara° and om. teṣāṃ, which does not improve the sense). Also para-tīrthya, see tīrthya.
