samasūpika¦, adj. (cf. Pali °paka), (food) having curry (sauce) equal (to the rice in amount): na °kam (sc. pratigrahīṣyāmaḥ) Mvy 8566; in the Pali parallels, Vin. iv.190.24 and 192.4, there is no negative, and samasūpa- kaṃ must be taken to mean having sauce in the right amount, which acc. to the comm. 892.1 is one quarter of the rice.
