2 avalīyate¦ (Skt. avalīyate, not quite in this mg.; = Pali olīyati, ppp. olīna; wrongly defined PTSD; cf. CPD s.v. an-olīna, not shrinking, not downcast, and °vuttika, not sluggish in one's duties), is depressed, downcast: cittaṃ nāvalīyate AsP 5.6 etc.; ŚsP 1643.20; ppp. avalīna, downcast, despondent: Śikṣ 126.1 nāvalīna-vacano, not despondent in his talk; Śikṣ 309.17 na cāvalīna-saṃtatayo bhavanti (see s.v. saṃtati); the opposite is udāra-saṃta- tikāś, following.
