so bya usually denotes the Cormorant, but the thangka image in Phrin Las is the Common Merganser, Mergus merganser. so bya, 'tooth bird', the beak has the form of a toothlike saw (comm. tibetbirds). Johannes Schmidt (talk) 20:52, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
