The division of periods in view of the life span of Buddha's teachings, which are:\n1. {rdzogs ldan/} the perfected aeon (see {bskal pa rdzogs ldan})\n2. {gsum ldan/} the threefold aeon (see {bskal pa gsum ldan})\n3. {gnyis ldan/} the twofold aeon (see {bskal pa gnyis ldan})\n4. {rtsod ldan/} the quarrelsome aeon (see {rtsod ldan gyi dus}).
