English Definition [prāsaṅgika] School; the consequentialists. A school of Madhyamika philosophy regarded as the highest of all Buddhist schools of philosophy representing Buddha [ṡākyamuni]'s ultimate view of reality. This school asserts not only the lack of true existence of all phenomena but also their lack of inherent or natural existence and establishes dependent origination and emptiness as mutually inclusive. [nāgārjuna] followed by [buddhapālita] and [candrakīrti] are considered the proponents of this school.
