[catvāri sthūla mārāḥ]/ The four gross evils; the four gross hinderances.\n1. {phung bo'i bdud rags pa/} [skandha sthūla māra]/ the gross evil of the aggregates, i.e. the contaminated aggregates\n2. {nyon mongs pa'i bdud rags pa/} [kleṡa sthūla mara]/ the gross evil of afflictions, i.e. the six root delusions (see {rataza nyon drug}) and the twenty secondary delusions (see {nye nyon nyi shu})\n3. {'chi bdag gi bdud ragasapa/} [mṛtyupati sthūla māra]/ the gross evil of death, i.e. natural death through severance of the life force\n4. {lha'i bu yi bdud rags pa/} [devaputra sthūla māra]/ the gross evil of lust, i.e. the evil of Kamadeva.
