Cīvaṃcīvaka (shang shang)

  • A mythical creature with the head, arms, and torso of a human being, and the wings and legs of a bird. The throne of the male buddha Amoghasiddhi assumes the form of a cīvaṃcīvaka bird. GD (from the Glossary to Tibetan Elemental Divination Paintings)
