The five paths or stages on the way to enlightenment: the path of accumulation, joining, seeing, cultivation, and consummation or no more learning. These five paths cover the entire process from sincerely beginning Dharma practice to complete enlightenment. RY

Sometimes they are embodiments of the meditational deities asssociated with particular ritual practices, or they may be food offerings presented to various deities or protectors visualised in the context of meditation. Yet again, gtor ma may act as physical symbols into which diverse aspects of negativity are absorbed, transformed, and ejected through ritual practices.
