The watersnail shells dung, shang ka shi la and cowries as well as oystershells/mother of pearl are classified as medicinal precious substances, the shells dung 'dra as medicinal stones and the mollusc 'bu skyogs (synonym dung 'dra) as medicinal animal. Cypraea is a genus of medium-sized to large sea snails or cowries, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Cypraeidae, the cowries. Shell transforms into Aragonite, CaCO3 (mindat.org). Commonly collected in large quantities for shellcraft. Once used as a currency in Pacific and Indian Ocean countries (sealifebase).
