ucita¦, nt., merit: Karmav 26.23 yathā hy ucitaṃ nikṣiptam, evam…gacchanti durgatim, for as their merit has been thrown away (laid down), so they go to an evil fate. Contrasts with duritam, sin, in 29.14 yathā duritaṃ nikṣiptam, evam…gacchanti sadgatim. (This specialized use of ucita seems nowhere recorded.)
