ma-gi-ta, the king of herbs and a superior aromatic herb, grows on shady mountains. In Tibetan, it is called rtsad. It has an erect and stout stem which bears thin smooth and green leaves. The small thin flowers are yellowish white and the fruits are thin like those of Nya-gro-rda (Peepal tree). The area, lying within an arrow-shot distance of the growing place of this medicine, is filled with fragrant smell of Candan (Sandal), musk and camphor like a non-stop strong odour of incense. No poisonous plants grow in its vicinity and even snakes are not noticed in this area.' (Dawa 1999)
