| Wylie | mtshan thub |
| Wylie Definition | Literally, an 'all night lasting' light. In Nomads 269 there is one at the top of the stove, evidently in order to preserve the fire for the next day. It is also a religious practice (known in late 12th century works of Zhang Rin-po-che) to offer butterlamps that will last all night. |
