avaśeṣa¦, adj. (= Pali avasesa), left over, remaining: Mv i.7.6 yaṃ teṣām asthīni avaśeṣāṇi (but so only 1 ms., the other 5 avaśeṣanti) bhūyo 'pi mānsachavi(?)… upajāyati, when (only) their bones are left, flesh and skin is produced again. See also kalpāvaśeṣam, niravaśeṣa, saṃghāvaśeṣa, sāvaśeṣa.
