gara-dattaka¦, adj. (specifying ka, § 22.39), one that had been poisoned, given poison: Mmk 53.26 (prose) °kaṃ (sc. ālikhet) ekākṣareṇaiva mantreṇaiva udakaṃ saptā- bhimantritaṃ kṛtvā tatraiva maṇḍalamadhye pātayita- vyaḥ, mucyate. On the construction (poison-given = poisoned) cf. pw s.v. dā 10, garaṃ or viṣaṃ dā with acc. (as well as gen.); this is the passive equivalent of that syntax. Cf. also -garādi-pradattaṃ Mmk 82.13.
