paripārayati¦ (= °pālayati, § 2.49), protects: sarva- sattvavaṃśāḥ paripārayitavyāḥ Gv 410.18. The only other interpretation would be to connect it with pārayati, saves, which seems otherwise not to be compounded with pari.
