Heidi lives at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in the Kathmandu Valley. She began translating for the lamas of the Monastery in 1996. Since 2002 she has also has taught and translated at the Kathmandu University - Centre for Buddhist Studies at Rangjung Yeshe Insitute. Heidi holds a Bachelor in Tibetan Studies with Sanskrit and an MA in South Asian Studies from the University of Copenhagen. She is preparing a Ph.d thesis on the relationship bewteen compassion and emptiness at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
