The Shel gong describes it as white with a blue tint, of crystal-like appearance. The pictures in dGa' ba'i rDor rje show Agates (micro-crystalline quartz), lig bu mig, but also a specimen recalling Amethyst, a violet-purple variety of macro-crystalline quartz, dkar gong.
In the medicinal gemstone section is a second notice for chu yi snying po, a different gemstone.
