'Wild goat', ra rgod, is a very general term. It includes a number of genera and species. dGa' ba'i rDo rje (1995) identifies it with the Himalayan Goral, a small goat found on rocky hillsides at high elevations, their territories often coinciding with those of the closely related serow (rgya). Paljor (2018) gives the Himalayan tahr, a large goat living on the southern slopes of the Himalaya. The image in the Medical Thangkas comes close to a Goa, but it might also show a feral form of the domestic goat.
