Erik Hein Schmidt [[Erik Pema Kunsang]] is a translator and scholar of Tibetan Buddhism. Under his Tibetan name Erik Pema Kunsang, he has translated over forty volumes of Tibetan texts and oral teachings, and directs, with his wife Marcia Binder Schmidt, Rangjung Yeshe Translations and Publications (www.rangjung.com) in Kathmandu. His books include: As It Is: Vol. I and II (Rangjung Yeshe Publications: 1999 and 2000), The Mirror of Mindfulness (Shambhala: 1989), Lamp of Mahamudra (Shambhala: 1989), The Light of Wisdom (Shambhala: 1995), and Dakini Teachings (Shambhala: 1990). Other projects include the Dharma Dictionary, an ongoing, electronic publication, compiling an extensive glossary of Buddhist terminology to bridge the Tibetan and English languages.
