Gavin Kilty was born in the UK in 1948. He teaches English as a second language to international students at a private college in Devon, as well as courses on Mahayana Buddhism at Sharpham College of Buddhist Studies. He also teaches courses each year on Tibetan language in both the UK and India. He studied the basic monastic cirriculum of the the Gelug school for eight years at the Buddhist School of Dialectics in Dharamsala, and has interpreted many times for several Lamas.
