Heidi lives at [Ka-Nying Shedrup Ling Monastery] in the Kathmandu Valley. She began translating for the lamas of the Monastery in 1996. Since 2002 she has also has taught and translated at the [Kathmandu University - Centre for Buddhist Studies at Rangjung Yeshe Insitute].
Heidi holds a Bachelor in Tibetan Studies with Sanskrit and an MA in South Asian Studies from the University of Copenhagen. She is preparing a Ph.d thesis on the relationship bewteen compassion and emptiness at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
