This line of incarnated Lamas is said to stem from the a nephew (Onpo) of Kuchen Karma Tashi known simple as Asam. A very great and important meditator and administrator of Palyul Monastery.

It is unclear to me at this time whither Asam (Karma Tashi's nephew and student) and Wangchuk Tulku Rigdizn Jigme Rangdrol ( also his nephew and student) are the same, though I think not. This line is for sure from nephew Rigdizn Jigme Rangdrol. If Wangchuk Tulku was every referred to as Wangchuk Lama, these two are reference side by side in the brief bio of [[Karma Lhawang]], as the two nephews of Karma Tashi that helped in the administration of the monastery during his and [[Togden Karma Dondam]]'s time, making them two people thus not the same person.
