(med) In the medical context translated differently as humours, principle energies etc. The 3 nyes pa comprise rlung, mkhris pa and bad kan, and each are connected to a basic emotion and the 5 basic elements. rlung, the most subtle of the 3 nyes pa, is connected to desire and the air element. mkhris pa is connected to anger and the fire element. bad kan is connected to ignorance and the elements of water (bad) and earth (kan). The space element pervades all. Their balance in the body is influenced by multiple factors, like the environment, seasons, daily and monthly rythms, behaviour, diet, the 6 tastes etc. If out of balance, they cause disorders and sicknesses.
