Another important seat of [[Jamgön Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye]] in eastern Tibet. This place is sacred to Guru [[Padmasambhava]], [[Yeshe Tsogyal]], Lotsawa [[Vairotsana]] and other early masters. Their practice caves can be found there. Several of the surrounding mountains are said to be the seats of Yangdag Heruka, Vajrakila, Hayagriva and other deities. A practice cave of the [[9th Karmapa]] Wangchuk Dorje is situated high up on one of these mountains. Many self-arisen designs and shapes can be found all around the mountains and rocks. It is here where Kongtrul arranged most of his collection of Terma teachings, the famous [[Rinchen Terdzo]]. The three-year retreat center there focuses upon the practices and teachings of the [[Shangpa Kagyu]] tradition.
