phur nag
1. Artemisia santolinifolia (Pamp.) Turcz. ex Krasch. (Asteraceae) (Dawa 1999). The descriptions are quite general, but this plant is used as phur nag in the Lhasa sman rtsis khang (Dawa 1999)

The phur mong group has 3 types according to plant colours. The white type, phur dkar, has white flowers and a light stalk. The brown type, phur smug, has dark flowers and yellowish brown stalk. The black type, phur nag, grows in the shade at lower altitudes and has a pungent odour. It has dark flowers with a green tinge, dark stalk and round, lobed, hairy leaves (Kletter 2001).
