dGa' ba'i rDo rje (1998) describes the two types as bel snabs and bel snabs dman pa. bel snabs is a chalcedony (mchong gi rigs) of yellowish green, dark green or pale yellow colour. bel snabs dman pa is mixed colour, yellowish green, dark green and orange-red. He identifies it later (2018) as antigorite.
bel snabs is the only chalcedony in the stone section. All other types are in the gem section. He does not present mchong as a general name, but he mentions for a number of minerals that they are of the mchong type (mchong gi rigs) or identifies them as agate : khra man, rdo'i snying po, chu snying, bel snabs, chu yi nor bu. Or he alludes to their similarity with mchong (khyung skyugs, gzi). Others are ambiguous with respect to their identification (chu chung ni la, lig bu mig).
Chalcedony is general term for microcrystalline quartz (comprising agate and onyx, jasper etc.) of waxy lustre, vitreous when polished. Very common (mindat.org)
Antigorite (bel snabs phal pa) is a vitreous Magnesium silicate of green or green-blue color in the Serpentine groupe (mindat.org)
For Yeshi (2018) silica or quartz (dkar gong).
