བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་མཆོག་རིན་པོ་ཆེ། |
by Shantideva
May the precious and supreme bodhicitta
Arise in those in whom it has not yet arisen;
And where it has arisen may it not decrease
But ever increase more and more.
This aspiration summarizes the entire Bodhisattva-caryāvatāra and its ten chapters in 913 stanzas.
May the precious and sublime awakened mind
Arise in those where it has not arisen.
Where it has arisen may it never wane
But continue to increase forever more.
May supreme, precious bodhicitta
Take birth where it has not arisen.
Where it has arisen, may it never wane
But continue to grow forever more!
May bodhichitta, great and precious,
Arise where it has not arisen.
Never weakening where it has arisen,
May it grow ever more and more.
